Coma Care

Coma patients are in a state of unconsciousness and hence, require a specialized care. They require tube feeding and provisions for waste elimination, special kinds of beds and other measures to prevent conditions like bed sores and many other specific care facilities. Additionally, they require regular monitoring. 

All of this constitutes Coma Care.

Mayoclinic defines coma as 'a state of prolonged unconsciousness that  caused by a variety of problems — traumatic head injury, stroke, brain tumor, drug or alcohol intoxication, or even an underlying illness, such as diabetes or an infection.' 

These patients can be looked after in hospital setups or can be taken home for maintenence therapy. At home, it can be a taxing job to monitor the parameters regularly and take all the specialized measures needed to take care of these patients.

This is where we come in. We provide a relatively homely environment and furthermore, we have trained staff to take care of the patient. 

Hence, all coma patients to be kept on maintenence therapy require Coma Care and can be enrolled here.

We aim to give the patient as much comfort and make the patient as much at home as we can. 

However, in these cases, caretaking expertise has more to do with the medical and vigilance expertise. We provide all necessities to ensure proper care of the patient. All measures to prevent bed sores, which can give way to fatal infections, are taken. We provide specialized Air/ Water beds for the same. Tube feeding and monitoring of patient parameters like pulse rate and urine output are handled by trained staff. 

Additionally, nutritional modifications as guided by our dietician will be done for overall health. 

We have 24/7 nursing staff for any iv fluid and oxygen administration or suction/drain that may need to be used for the patient.
